Our responsibility

Because the future needs
responsibility

As a family-run company with strong regional roots and a clear vision for the future, we take responsibility - ecologically, socially and economically. For us, sustainability is not a trend, but part of our attitude.

For us, responsibility begins in the family and extends far beyond that: we create secure jobs, protect the environment and promote a strong sense of community. We act with foresight today so that future generations can also build on a healthy foundation. For us, it's not just words that count, but actions. Whether in the office, on the construction site or in training: We are supporters and initiators. Together we make a difference.

About the ALHO Group

We see sustainable action as a central obligation. We invest in climate-friendly technologies, promote knowledge and appreciation within the company and strengthen our role as a reliable local employer. In doing so, we take a forward-looking approach across all areas of the company and are constantly looking for innovative, resource-saving solutions.

In this way, we are not only shaping the success of today, but also the living and working environment of tomorrow for our employees, partners, the region and the next generation.

Reporting channel for offences
against the LkSG

The ALHO Group is subject to the legal obligations of the German Supply Chain Due Diligence Act (LkSG), which aims to improve the protection of human rights and the environment in global supply chains. In order to become aware of possible breaches of duty with regard to human rights and environmental protection, the ALHO Group has set up a reporting centre and commissioned the law firm Heuking Kühn Lüer Wojtek (HKLW) to receive and process such reports

Our commitment to the environment

The ALHO Group's guiding principles are clearly defined: Zero Waste and Circular Economy. The construction industry accounts for a significant proportion of the waste generated worldwide. Compared to traditional construction methods, we have already successfully reduced our waste by 70 per cent in the construction of our modular and container buildings. But that's not all: we are continuing to work intensively on developing processes to return all residual materials to the material cycle. The high degree of prefabrication of ALHO buildings also helps to significantly reduce the environmental impact on site - up to 20 per cent less construction site traffic and up to 50 per cent less noise and construction dust are the concrete figures. Our basic principle of "(C)Lean Production" aims to minimise waste through consistent optimisation. This enables us to utilise all resources efficiently.

We support our approach with specialist sustainability planning, which was founded in 2021 and has been focussing on sustainability challenges ever since.

ALHO specialised planning sustainability

In 2021, the ALHO Group founded the Sustainability Planning department, which is dedicated exclusively to all sustainability issues relating to products and projects.

The areas of responsibility include

  • the calculation of life cycle assessments for our products
  • applying for BNB and DGNB certifications for our construction methods
  • informing and training employees in dealing with sustainability issues
  • Further development of our serial construction methods
  • Use of resource-saving materials
